Frequently Asked Questions

I don't have a roommate. Can I take the cruise without one?

Yes. You may either choose for Clay Times to assign a roommate to you, or you may choose to pay the single supplement and have a cabin to yourself. Both types of rates are listed in the pricing options above.

I don't have a valid passport for travel. Will my birth certificate suffice?

NO! As a result of recently changed legislation, Royal Caribbean asks that you present a valid U.S. passport or valid passport from your country of citizenship to board this cruise. The application process takes a few weeks (and rushing the process can be quite costly) so we recommend that you apply for your passport NOW. Click here to apply via the U.S. Passport Agency.

Can I bring my spouse without him/her having to pay for the conference, too?

Yes. See the fourth option above, listed for both interior and balcony cabins, to determine pricing for both of you.

Can I bring my children?

Yes, but conference registration is limited to persons 18 & older, and there are no cabin discount rates for children except as a 3rd person in a double/balcony (E3) room (add $450 surcharge to the above 2-person rates). If you bring a child/children, consider taking advantage of Royal Caribbean's "Adventure Ocean" program, where kids 17 & under are monitored and presented with plenty of age-appropriate activities from which to choose.

What fees are not covered in the above rates?

Not covered in our cruise/conference rates are:

Roundtrip airfare or transportion to/from cruise ship dock of Tampa, FL. We recommend that you book air reservations IMMEDIATELY to secure the best rate (a few of the most popular online booking options include expedia.com and priceline.com). We also recommend that if you are flying to Tampa, you take a taxi to the port (round-trip cab fare is roughly $30, which can be shared if others travel with you). Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to board the ship (boarding begins at noon; the ship will sail (with or without you) at 5:00 pm sharp. The earlier you board the ship, the more time you'll have to take advantage of all the great amenities onboard!

Alcoholic beverages, room service gratuities, some onboard ship activities (such as spa treatments), specialty restaurant dining (rather than included dining room or room service food excluding room service gratuity), any/all excursions off-ship are NOT covered in the registration fee.

Is any portion of my registration fee refundable?

No. Due to restrictive reservation requirements and confirmation dates contracted by Clay Times with Royal Caribbean, we cannot honor trip refunds for any reason. As such, we strongly urge you to take out trip insurance, available at reasonable all-inclusive rates from a variety of different providers (check out insuremytrip.com to compare some of the most popular policies available).

I have food allergies. Can the ship accommodate my special needs?

Yes. On your registration form, please list your food allergies with any special needs you require, and the chefs at Royal Caribbean will provide you with several acceptable alternate selections to accommodate your needs.

I have questions that aren't addressed here. Who can I contact to find out the answers?

We will be happy to answer your questions and assist you with any special needs you might have!
